At Sun Lakes Animal Clinic we recommend the following vaccinations for our feline patients:

(1) FVCRP (Feline Viral Calici, Rhinotracheitis, and Panleukopenia; commonly called the "Distemper" vaccination, or 3-way shot)

(2) Feline Leukemia

(3) Rabies

For Kittens We Recommend The Following Protocol:

6 weeks of age - 1st FVCRP vaccination

Fecal (Stool Sample Analysis)

9 weeks of age - FVCRP booster

Feline Leukemia Test

Feline Leukemia vaccination

12 weeks of age - Feline Leukemia Booster

16 weeks of age - Rabies Vaccination

6 months old - Spay or Neuter

1 year old - Annual FVCRP (Distemper) booster

Annual Feline Leukemia booster

Rabies booster

The FVCRP (Distemper) and Feline Leukemia vaccinations are boostered yearly while the Rabies vaccination is boostered every 3rd year thereafter.

For kittens older than 6 weeks of age when they begin the vaccinations we recommend the same time intervals between injections but the vaccinations can often be combined for these patients.

For Adult Cats Who Have Never Received Vaccinations We Recommend The Following Protocol:

(1) Initial FVCRP (Distemper) vaccination

(2) Feline Leukemia test

(3) Initial Feline Leukemia vaccination

Three (3) Weeks Later:

(1) FVCRP (Distemper) booster

(2) Feline Leukemia booster

One (1) Year Later:

(1) FVCRP (Distemper) booster

(2) Feline Leukemia booster

(3) Rabies booster

The FVCRP (Distemper) and Feline Leukemia vaccinations are boostered yearly and the Rabies boostered every 1 to 3 years thereafter, depending on your local regulations.
